To Secretary - In reply to above informs that it was not intended by the order of the 25th August 1854 to make any alteration in repect to the class of Public Officers entitled to Medical attendence but that covenanted or uncovenanted officers as were previously entitled to gratuitous attendance at their houses were still so entitled but not their families and to remove all uncertainty as to the particular officers of the uncovenanted service who should be entitled to this privilege would not object to the adoption of an authorized list of such officers but with certain reservations.
