Secretary - Adverting to letter of 27th February 1852 with reference to the cases of Major Mile and Lieut Colonel Marshale of restructing the reward of 1000 Rs. granted by the Court for proficiency in the Native land, Gunges, to Military Officers of not more than 15 years Services, States that the Bengal Notification of 1st October 1852 prohibiting the grant of the reward to Officers about to retire from the Service, has reference only to the College of Fort William but may be deemed proper to be extended to the Madras and Bombay Presidencies.
