In order to avoid the heavy payment of postage on the bulky documents sent home to the Court it was the practice at Bombay as it is here to forward as freight. All Mr. Lefs correspondence referred to in the Dispatches to the Court whereby a considerable saving of postage was effected. But the Bombay Govt has now been advised by the Advocate General that Mr. Lef's correspondence referred to in Dispatches as accompanying documents have no character distinct from that of the Despatches themselves and are an integral consideration part and parcel of the Despatches. The Govt of Bombay therefore requests the interference of the Govt of India in this subject and in the meantime will send all the bulky accompanying manuscript accompaniments in letters to the court by the Post.
