Stating that, under instructions received from the foreign Department, the Maharaja of Sikkim was in 1864 furnished with 200 muskets and ammunition as notes within, to serve as a means of defence in case of aggressions from Bootan, and that the Maharaja having recently asked that these muskets may be given to him, the Lieutenant-Governor has been pleased to make them over to the Maharaja absolutely as a present from the Government.
