Correspondences beween the Director General of the Post Office of India and Secretary with the Governor General relating to an application from D. Dicken soliciting to be allowed to remain as Post Master of Palua which appointment be has held for the post of years but now about to lose it oweing to revision of the Post Office establishment which application the Director General thinks it would be inexperient to comply with as similar applications from other civil surgeous and officers could not then be refused whereas the inreased work caused by uniform Postage requrires the supervision of persons who can devote their entire time and attention to it and to which affect Dr. Dicken has been addressed.
