Resolution - In reply to the foregoing explains that by a Clerical error the orders conveyed to the Military Department under date the 5th January last mentioned Sepoys remittance drafts whereas thy were intended to apply to Petitions of Native Soldiers, & such petitions cannot be permitted to be forwarced free of Postage will not distribute the ruling of the Director General regard to the 4 first items mentioned by him which will relate none or less of family remittance, but as respects the 5th Vizt correspondence with Officers Commanding Companies respecting Sepoys family affairs, suits complaints etc. The # first desire to have the advise of His Excellency the Commander in Chief as to whether such exemption is realy necessary.
