From - In continuation of Extract dated 21st October 1856 forwards for information copy of a Resolution determining with reference to that of the above date that for the future Civilians intended for the Punjab shall be posted to that Government direct as soon as they are reported qualified for the public service, instead of the practice hitherto observed, the Lieut. Governor of the Punjab being required to furnish a Memo to the Foreign Department half yearly or earlier if necessary of the number of Young Civilians required for service the Punjab with a view to carry out the Measure.
