Read a Despatch from the Honble Court of Directors no. 89 of 1856 dated 27th August replying to Bengal Narratives dated in 1855 retabing to Junior Civil Servants and remaking in Para 11 on the practice of passing assistants under the 1st and 2nd Standards subject to re-examination on any point in which they may be found deficient and suggesting with reference to the prohibition in the Punjab where it has been diceded that all who undergo examinations must be sither passed or # without qualification stat the attention of the Government he given to the subject with the view of one uniform rule being prescribed for observation wherever the system of examining assistant prevails.
