In reference to a letter of the 28th dec last the majarity of the boards stil advocate the grant of a traveling allowanc to supg engr Lt. col craige dies not cancur in the view of the majority major Iruine is of opinion that the numbe of supg engr should bereduced that the saving this effected would move than meet the proposed traveiling allowances to those officers and that he cannot recommend the extenstion of that alsowanct officers whose number als he thibnk should be praspctiuly reduced.
