with reference to a letter of the 29thg ultio states that by G O Q J 15th sept. 18521 2nd lt. Nciholson serviing with the 1st Brigadier 60th rifles on India was promoted by purchase to 1st Lieutty in the 2nd baattalio n on the home destablishment and that under the regiment marginally noted this office caeaseed to have any claim to India allowances.
