With reference to his office letter No. 42 dated 11th January 1868 forwards copy of a Despatch from the from the Secretary of State, and requests an early report on the advisability of placing Darjeeling and all other hill stations on the same footing with regard to a fixed moderate amount of expenditure on the part of Government.
