Alteration recommended by General Officer Commanding “D” of the Indian Army act to provide for offences of self-mutilation under Section 31 (h) of that act being punished with death, as the offence is very rife among Indian troops in Force “D” and existing punishment admissible fails to act as a deterrent. Decision not to proceed with special legislation in the matter.
