Alteration recommended by General officer Commanding D of the Indian Army Act to provide for offences of self-multilation under section 31 (H) of that act being punished with death as the offence is very rife among Indian Troops in Force D and existing punishment admissible fails to act as a deterrent Decision not to proceed with special legislation in the matter.
