Extract from a letter, dated the 10th March, from Col. Pearse, [to the Secretary], reporting that he and the other officers of the detachment have not as yet got their commissions,and requesting that they may be sent. Report of the Secretary, stating that the commissions for the several officers promoted on the 1st January lastwere issued from his office with in afortnight after the promotions had taken place, and that an acknowledgment has been received from the Paymaster of Col. Pearse's detachment.
