Central Railway: Judgement delivered by the Authority under the P.W. Act, Bombay, in the case of Gangmen of Pandu Goma and others vs. Divl. Engineer, Parel re. the House Rent Allowance. Decision: The House Rent Allowance comes within the definition of wages under the P.W. Act and not within the excepted expression the value of any house accommodation under sub-section VI(a) of Section 2 of the Act. Supreme Court's judgement setting aside the- and upholding the legality of the provisions of Rule 3(1) regulating the Compensatory (city) Allowance and House Rent Allowances, as modified by the orders issued by the Railway Board on 1.12.1947
