N.F. Railway-Retrenchment compensation under the Industrial Disputes Act-Question whether the apprenticeship training period which varies for different categories of employment should be counted for the purpose of calculation of continuous service towards the payment of retrenchment compensation under the ID Act. Decision that no retrenchment compensation would be admissible to an apprentice recruited under the Apprentice Act, 1961. for those who are not covered by the Said Act each case has to be examined with reference to the particular contracts of apprenticeship keeping in view the general provisions made in the ID Act. Position clarified to NF Railway
