Resolution - with reference to the corredsponding with the Bengal Government and with the Honble Court on the examination of covenanted Assistant held in April and May 1854 and to the proposition of that Government so to alter CL 3 of the Rules as to admit of an assistant on passing his examination in the Secured standard exercising full powers provided he shall have been in actual employ for not less than six months explains why the president in council considers the clause a very proper and benificial provision and there fore adheres to the opinion that it will be better to leave the existing Rule unaltered but directs that the question be specially reported to the Honble Court for final orders.
