Read a Despatch from the Honble Court of Directors No. 31 of 1856 dated 25th April intimating that Mr. W. J. Hay of the B. C. S. has been allowed 6 months extension of hare on Medical Certificate but as he failed to apply in time to admit of a Comm. being made to this Government before his leave expired he has been informed that he has forfeited his appointment and salary and that he will only he allowed to dran during his extended have a Sick absentee allowance at the rate of 250 per annum. The Honble Court desire that it herestified generally that application for permission to return on for Extension of leave must he made to than at least three months before the date of exporiation of leave.
