Transmits copy of a letter from Messrs. Schlagintweit, dated 28th June last, Soliciting the patronage of Government to the 2nd Volume of their work entitled ``General Hypsometry of India and High Asia,`` as also of one from the Surrveyor General of India, representing the advantages of such an edition, and recommeding that 100 to 150 copies be subscribed for Deems it advisable that Messrs. Schlagintweit be informed through Her Majesty`s Government of the intentions of the Government of India.
