Stating that the Civil Surgeon and the local Civil Authorities of the Jessore Division are of opinion that the unusual Sickness which prevails among European Troops encamped at Tarragoonea in the Hooghly District is rather to be attributed to the liquor obtainable from the French Settlement at Chandernagore and to the bad water at Hooghly and Tarragoonea than to any other Cause.
