In reply to his letter no 599 of the 3rd Instant.Submits an application from Captain A B. kerr, major of Brigade to the madras troops serving the sangor and nerbndda Terretories to be placed on an E quality, in point of allowances with majors of Brigade in the Bengal Army whilst holding that appointment, and in suport of which Captain k states that having presiely the same duties to perfrom with Brigade major in the Bengal army and that he has to accompany the Brigadier Commanding the Madras Trops on annual Fours of inspection of upwards of 600miles, for the Expenses of which no allowance is granted.
