With reference to a letter of the 6th November last, state that the Governor General is not disposed to adpt the recommendation of the special Committee, with which the Commander in Chief has concurred to convert no. 1 Barrack at Subathoo into a permanent Hospital for the wing of a Regiment that no objective whatever have been raised to the position & Buildings of the Present Hospital, and that however well adopted for the accommodation of a wing of a Regiment No. 1 Barrack may be its close proximity to the other Barrack in which the Troops are Quarter is a fatal objection. That His Lordship thinks it very advisable that Hoslpitals should be placed in the last position possible, but Hes Lordship thinks it equally advisable that they should be removed to a suitable distance from the Quarters of the Regiment.
