In our letter under date the 9th Instant, we adverted to the probability of our subject entering the lakes of Ava. We have now to apprise you of the actual declaration of hostilities with that government and to enclose a copy of the statement of the causes which have compelled us to resort to arms. It is our intention to fit out forthwith an armament consisting of about 5000 men for the occupation of Rungoon.
