In the cause now pending in the Supreme Court by the Collecter General against the Custodian of the late General Martine on a case named suffucive [sic] administration of some estates who is now and also with a view to a material Witness in the due investigation of the Courts claims under his attornies therefore is about to empress his government before on decision of the Court I have therefore Entreated the Right Honorable the Vice President in Council would be pleased to direct the Resident at the Court of Oede to intimate to Mr Martine that his attendance in Calcutta is required with as little delay as possible and to afford him the means (which he shall be repacted) such protection necessary for his journey and that the Resident to afford protection to the property which Mr Martine has under his charge during his attendance in Calcutta in charge of the House of Contracts and if desired to afford the benefit of his evidence on the point required.
