I have the honor to transmit to you for the purpose of being laid before the Hon'ble the Vice President in Council, the accompanying letter of the 7th Instant addressed by Major General Wood commanding a Division of the Army in the Field, to the Adjutant General describing the circumstances of an unsuccessful attack made by the Troops under his Command against an entrenched position occupied by the Nizam's force & the causes which rendered the gallantry of his Troops unavailing.
