Refusal of permission to Government servants to join the Burma contingent raised in Rangoon, for active service in Europe. Terms granted to ex-warrant officers, non-commissioned officers and men employed in Government service who may re-enlist for the duration of the war. Decision that men holding temporary and non-pensionable appointments in the Public Works Department and not entitled to furlough may be granted the same terms on proceeding on Military service out of India as those given to persons in permanent Government employ.
