Draft of a letter to Brigadier-General Goddard, intimating that copies of General Orders issued at the Presidency relating to the Bengal detachment under him have already been transmitted to him, and that three Lieutenants and nine Ensigns were ordered to join him in August last, desiring him to send back the four Majors and twenty-three Captains of the Bengal detachment to the Presidency, and requesting him to reduce the staff appointments of the Bengal detachment.
