Development of canteens for staff on cooperative basis. 1. Board's approval given to C.L.W's proposal to increase the number of elected members of gradually in the Committee of Management of the Canteens at Chittranjan. 2. Decisions (on a reference from Central Railway that: (a) loans may be sanctioned to canteens from SBF (b) there is no need to build up a reserve fund in canteens; (c) The term' no profit' does not preelude the prices of the food stuff being so fixed as to provide for a little profit towards replacement of crockery and any other improvements which are chargeable by the canteens funds. (d) The services of full-time Railway employees are not necessary for the enitial setting up of canteen. (e) No subsidy is called for in the case of Canteens as substantial help is already expended to canteens under the orders contained in Board' letter No. E(F)45GR211 dated 30.10.45. (f) Board's sanction communicated to the waiver of electricity charges amounting to Rs. 809.37 due from the canteen in the CCS/COPS Offices, Gorakhpur, NE Rly. for the period from Jan.55 to Aug.56 The Rly. also advised that as the canteen was taken over by the consumer Co-op. Society, Gorakhpur, from 9-1-60, it is eligible for free supply of electricity from that date
