Decided that 12 Subsidised Hostels should be set up, at least one hostel for each major linguistic area, for the children of railway employees who have to send their children away from their Headquarters for the purpose of education. The places at which these hostels are to be set up are Secunderabad, Dhond, Patna, Lucknow, Gauhati, Trichinopoly, Mysore, Olavakkot, Kharagpur, Cuttack, Anand and Ajmer
