It was decided that 12 Subsidised Hostels, at least one for each major linguistic area, should be established for the children of railway personnel who must send their children away from their Headquarters for educational purposes. These hostels will be built at Secunderabad, Dhond, Patna, Lucknow, Gauhati, Trichinopoly, Mysore, Olavakkot, Kharagpur, Cuttack, Anand, and Ajmer
