Eastern Railway- Question whether deductions could be made from wages for absence while on duty for any time spent beyond the limits of charge without unit of time clarified to all Railway that- (i) In the case of an employee who had absented himself an authorisedly after working for a short period, say for an hour or soon a day, payment should be allowed, to him on for the hours already worked by him and deduction made for the actual period of his absence on that day and (ii) The principle of 'No Work No Pay' would also apply to cases in which an employee although present at the place of his work refuses to perform his work for the remaining part of a day
