Digest of Railway News and Views dated 7-6-1961- Framing of rules by the Government to regulate modes or life of married male railwaymen. The Eastern Railway had issued a circular to the effect that neglect by a Rly servant of his wife a family was unbecoming of a Govt servant and constituted a good and sufficient reason for action being taken against him under the D. and A. Rules. Since the Board had themselves decided not to issue such a circular, the circumstances in which the E.Rly. issued the circular was ascertained. The E. Rly. had issued the circular on the basis of a classification given by Board that, though no provision i the Rules was necessary neglect by a railway servant of his wife and family in a manner unbecoming of a Govt. servant can be regarded as a good and sufficient reason to justify action being taken against him without broking the provisions of conduct rules no further action was considered necessary
