Amendment of Rule 14 (1) of the Payment of Wages (Railways) Rules 1938 -Decision that giving an opportunity of showing cause to an employee governed by the Payment of Wages Act would be necessary only for imposition of fines and deduction for damage or loss. Rule 14 (1) of the Payment of Wages (Railways) Rules, 1938 was accordingly amended. The notification issued by the Labour Ministry was circulated to Railways. The Ministry of Finance notified an amendment to F.R. 17 providing that an officer who is absent from duty without any authority shall not be entitled to any pay and allowances during the period of such absence.
