Classification: For service officers, the pay in the senior scale is determined point to point based on the amount the officer would have occasionally received in the junior scale if he had not been appointed to a senior scale position. However, retired officers who are rehired directly in the senior scale are not covered by this pay fixation concept. Therefore, the issue of whether to apply the six-year cap on regulating compensation in the senior scale in this particular instance does not come up. In accordance with the directives in Board letter No. E(G)58EM1-20, dated 31-3-1959, the retired officers pay is to be fixed.
