The question is whether the Central Governments authorization of railway schools to be regarded as amenities and services under section 7(2)(e) of the payment of wages Act, 1936, covers deductions for the cost of providing uniforms to children of railway employees attending railway schools. The decision was made that children of railway employees who earn more than 225/-a month could attend Railway Primary Schools with uniforms provided, and the cost of those uniforms could be deducted from the employees pay if section 11 of the Payment of Wages Act of 1936 was followed
