Significant appointments to temporary positions and the tally of leave durations for increases in official appointments (i) The decision that LAP/P.L. up to a maximum of 4 months/120 days taken at a once counts for increases in temporary appointments and officiating; it is confirmed that the railway employee would have continued to officiate if he hadn't taken his leave. (ii) Deciding that the length of the maternity leave is not taken into account when determining an official's appointment increment. (iii) Deciding that items covered by company rules are likewise subject to the concession at (i) above. (iv) It is certified that the railway employee's joining time and leave duration under Rule 2137(b)-R.II after a leave of absence also contribute towards promotions to officiating or permanent positions
