The General Orders of the Board governing the fixation of surplus staff's pay upon their absorption in alternative posts were referenced by Shri P.K. Kumaran MP, who was informed of the problems of the works ministries of the construction side engineering department and central railway position. It has been decided that: (i) When employees hired through the Railway Service Commission are rendered surplus; (a) When an employee is appointed from a higher to a lower or equivalent alternative post; and (b) When an employee is absorbed into a post that requires an increase in pay commensurate with the number of years of service they provided in the previous position. (b) Pay shall be set in accordance with standard procedures if the appointment is to a different position with the same timetable
