Government employees who are killed or seriously injured in a railway accident while doing their duties are entitled to compensation under the Workman's Compensation Act of 1923, according to the Ministry of Labour and Employment. Ask whether a pass anger who has an accident on the railway and may be entitled to compensation from the railway administration in his capacity as a passenger should be prevented from obtaining benefits from his employer under the Workman's Compensation Act if he is entitled to such benefits under the Act. Initially, it appears as though there is no justification for paying compensation under more than one law, particularly in cases where the railway has taken on liability regardless of whether it was negligent. Additionally, when the liability maximum is set to increase to Rs. 20, 000, it is suggested that this will limit the ability to file a claim for compensation under any of the aforementioned laws.
