Informed that the Lieutenant-Governor does not at present consider it advisable to depute an officer to Sikkim to inquire whether slavery is carried on there, and requested to report at the end of the cold season if any reliable information on the subject has been obtained by the Deputy Commissioner of Darjeeling.
