With reference to despatch no. 124 dated 21st dec. 1867 forwards copy of the letter from the Govt. of the North Western Provinces recommending that the Messrs. Laird Brothers and R. Napier and Sons may be asked to tender for the accommodation steamer required for the Ganges canal and that a contract for the may be entered into on the tender which may be approved by the Secy. of state.
