In reply to Extract no. 974 of the 24th Ultimo, intimates that the offices in Civil employ therein referred to applied for by the Madras Govt. for Regimental duty cannot for the reasons assigned, be spared, with the exception of Captain Harvey 2nd European Light Infantry who will at once be ordered to join his Regiment.
