To Secretary - Acknowledges his letter No. 858 dated the 8th Instant with Enclosure, and states that Governor General in Council cordially acknowleges the excellent service performed by Mr. Dunne, and it will afford the Government great satisfaction to mark its sence of it in the manner recommended by the Lieut. Governor. However it is essential before the Government of India can determine in this and other cases, what grants shall be awarded to those who have done good service to the British Power during the late Crises- That full information should be before the Government as to the extent of confiscated lands which is at the disposal of Government this information should be laid before him immediatly So that the several claims may be decided by Government including that of Mr. Dunne.
