To Secretary - In reply states that this Government desires that the Lieut. Governor would name before hand, the day from which be would proposed to make the possission of Coumon unlanful in any part of Bengal in order that at places where resistance is expected a force may be at hand to esact obedence to the Law but if there be insufficient force to do so the inforcement of the surrender of unlawful Caravan could be delayed it was not entanded to have a force at every place where the surrender of private Cannol may have to be inforced # not desirable to proclaim section 26 in Behar & that # be taken of the guns in Tekaree Fort at present there are not Troops or artillery to send to Teraree to make an example with a new of producing a satisfactory effect throught out Bengal but the Bengal Government will be informed so soon as force is available for that place - Meanwhile it would be advisable to ascertain the places at which it likely that the surrender of Cannon will have to be enfor
