From Board - Submit copy of a Memorial from certain Members of the Pilot Service praying that the usual Pension to a Widow of a Branch Pilot may be allowed to Mrs. Sarah Youngs the Widow of the late Branch Pilot Youngs on the ground that the practice obtains in the Marine Department of granting Pensions to Widows although married subsequent to the period of the Pilot retiring on Pension, and referring to cases of 6 Widows now receiving Pensions under similar circustances. Think Mrs. Youngs claim satsifactory made out - should Government hold the principle irregular suggest the expediency of communicating to all Male Pensioners that no Pensions will be allowed to their Widows if Married subsequent to the date of communication - Also that the Court of Directors be requested to make the same known to all Male Pensioners in England.
