From Resident Singapore - In obedience to Courts Orders of 2nd June will suspend all further issue of Leases of Lands at Singapore & Malacca upon the Old System, but for all Land already disposed of under that System the confirmation of the Supreme Court will be required. Statesz reasons why he is of opinion that under the New Regulations neither Europeans nor Natives will ever solicit a Lease for a single Acre for the purpose of cultivation.
