To Board - In reply - The rates of travelling by the Dawk Runners exhibited in the Documents Submitted with the foregoing not satisfactory. - requested to take into consideration the expediency of inviting proposals for conveying the Mails from the Presidency to and from Benares by contract, and report the result Concurs in the observation respecting the slow progress of the Runners on this Establishment when Compared with that of Madras as also the Measure of paying the dawk Runners more punctually in future. encloses Copy of a dispatch from Fort St. George relative to the Speed of the dawk between that Presidency and the Orissa Frontier.
