Letter from the Chief and Council at Surat, intimating that they have accepted three bills of exchange drawn in their favour, transmitting a duplicate copy of their letter, dated the 21st June, together with two packets received from Bombay, and intimating that the bill on Bechecherdas is in course of payment and that the agents at Surat have already made good the sum of rupees 2,22,125.
