Extract from a General Letter dated the 12th April 1786, from the Court of Directors complaining of the in proper way in which the company investments have been procured and the smallness of the produce of the company goods at the sales mentioning that gross misconduct on the part of their servants in the commercial departments in India has been discovered and intimating the appointmet of a Secret committee for investigating the abuses and controlling the investments.
