Draft of a letter to the President and Council of Fort St. George, intimating that the sum of 40 lacks of current rupees has been allotted to them for 1786-87, showing that the sum supplied them for their expenses in 1785-86 greatly exceeded the sum originally allotted to them, directing them to try to provide an investment of Coast piece goods and to reduce the rate of exchange, and asking whether any of the productions of Bengal will find a market in Fort St. George, so as to obviate the necessity of making a remittance in specie.
