Statement of exdpenditure sanctioned by the Administration of Assam during the quarter ended 30th June 1898, under the power conferred by Article 278A of the Civil Account Code. The Comptroller, Assam, informed that the Government of India see no objection to the action taken by the Local Administration in sanctioning a charge incurred by a Municipal Union in the grant of a gratuity to a non-pensionable pound-keeper, which became irrecoverable owing to his death.
